Beer Basics – Sensory Workshop

Keen to learn more about beer?

Want to improve your tasting ability?

Ever wondered how to describe different beer styles and flavours?

I’ve found that the more I know about a certain beer style, its key ingredients and flavours, the more I appreciate what’s in my glass. Having the opportunity to try styles you wouldn’t normally drink is a great way to build your beer knowledge and challenge your senses.

With just a bit of extra info, it helps you know what to expect for appearance, aroma, flavour and mouthfeel. You get a base level understanding which helps you compare different beers, discover styles you love and remember what you’ve tasted so you can share with others.

Beer lovers have the opportunity to learn more about their senses while enjoying a range of beers in a fun and practical course. Explore the styles, flavours and tastes of beer based on the key themes of malt, hops and yeast.

This hands-on course is ideal for people wanting to learn more about beer ingredients, key styles and practice their tasting skills in a group environment. Get the basics on how beer is made, packaged, served and stored. It is suitable for people with all levels of experience from the interested consumer to the professional. Presented by Briony Liebich, a sensory analyst, national beer judge and Certified Cicerone (aka beer sommelier).
